Uttarakhand has a rich and varied climate and it provides travel destinations for all time and seasons. The climate and vegetation of different cities of this state vary with the altitude of its location. Every destination is not approachable in monsoon due to the worst road condition and landslides. We have mentioned some easily accessed destinations during the monsoon season.
Mussoorie
Excellent climate, scenic beauty, and a wide range of sources of entertainment make this place an attractive holiday destination. Monsoon is perfectly safe for a visit to Mussoorie. It looks greener and more beautiful after the rain and you can catch some great views of the snow-capped mountain ranges when the sky is clear. Most hotels on Mall Road will have a view of the Doon valley. The only flipside is that you may have to stay indoors because it can rain incessantly at times during the monsoon.
Dhanaulti
Dhanaulti is also emerging rapidly as a leisure destination for those seeking a quiet weekend away from the maddening crowds of Mussoorie. It showers the tourists with natural beauteousness throughout the year, therefore it can be visited at any time of the year. There are some camping sites that provide a stay, meals, recreational activities, and trekking tours.
Mukteshwar
Mukteshwar is perched at an astounding elevation of 2,285 meters above sea level in the Nainital District of Uttarakhand. Mukteshwar rests on the misty mountains amidst dense forests and on the other side, it offers a splendid view of the enchanting valley and the Himalayas.
Lansdown
Lansdown is set at a location which is in the midst of lovely surroundings – tall oak trees and blue pines rise like spires, off the mountainside. It is situated at an altitude of 1,700 meters above sea level in the Pauri Garhwal district. It is a perfect place to meditate and rejuvenate your soul.
Jim Corbett National Park
Jim Corbett National Park is the most celebrated wildlife reserve of India. Located in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand, this mesmerizing park is reckoned as a protected area for the critically endangered Bengal tiger. It is one of the most availed travel tours and in recent times the number of people availing has increased further. There are many resorts and hotels in the vicinity to handle the heavy influx of tourists, especially during the peak of the season. Bijrani and Dhikala Zones are closed during monsoons. Jhirna zone is open throughout the year.
Pangot
