Corbett National Park is completely open for exploring from mid-November to mid-June. The Jhirna and Dhela zones of Corbett National Park remains open throughout the year.

Bijrani zone is open from mid-October and the biggest zone of Corbett Dhikala opens from the 15th of November.

The park is closed partially during the period of monsoon. Most of the roads in Birjani and Dhikala zone get washed away during the monsoon.

The gates remain closed after sunset and no nocturnal driving is allowed.

Jim Corbett National Park is situated in the Nainital, Pauri Garhwal and Almora Districts of Uttarakhand. It is one of the oldest national parks in India.

The park is known for its initiative Project Tiger, for endangered Bengal tiger of India. The total area of the reserve is 1318.54 sq. km. consisting of 520 sq. km. of the core area and 797.72 sq. km. of the buffer area.

After India’s independence in 1947, the park was renamed as Ramganga National Park. But in 1956 it was renamed as Jim Corbett National Park in the memory of Colonel Jim Corbett.

You can visit Jim Corbett National Park by Jeep Safari and Canter Safari. Maximum 6 persons are allowed in an open jeep safari in Corbett and a maximum of 16 persons can travel inside a Cater Safari.
