Sultan Forest Lodge
Sultan Forest Lodge offers a superb view of rare species of animals like a jungle cat, fishing cat, and leopard cat. Other popular mammals that tourists can sight include four kinds of deer namely, barking, sambar, hog, and chital, besides, Sloth and Himalayan Black Bears, Indian Grey Mongoose, otters, yellow-throated martens, Ghoral (goat-antelopes), Indian pangolins, and langur and rhesus monkeys. One could also hear the sound of Owls and Nightjars during the night. During the summer seasons, elephants can be seen in herds of several hundred. The Indian python found in the reserve is a dangerous species, skilled enough to kill a chital deer.
Sultan Forest Lodge is open all through the year and this is indeed great news for the tourists and wildlife lovers who love being close to nature, keeping the hindrance of timings at bay. Tourists can always plan their tour accordingly to make their stay enjoyable. Make sure that you keep track of timings, as during the rush season, you may find difficulty in finding the accommodation.
Best Time to Visit
Sultan rest house resides inside Dhikala Zone so it’ opening and closing timings are depend on Dhikala Zone.
It opens every year 15th of November and closes 15th of Jun.
Prohibitions at Sultan Forest Lode
Alcohol and non-vegetarian food not allowed. All your personal and non-biodegradable remains like tin cans, plastic, glass bottles, metal foils etc. should be put into a carry bag and you should dispose it off in a proper manner.
Make sure that you check with the authorities on the restrictions. You should not be able to make any crossover to break the rules and regulations which affect the flora or fauna species of region.
There is not a regular canteen for fooding arrangements in Sultan forest lodge. Visitours tool the raw material with them and the cook of rest house staff will make it.
