Durga Devi Forest Zone

Durga Devi is an attractive and verdant tourism zone falling within the range of the Corbett National Park region. It is a wildlife area, exceptionally used for long elephant safaris, and makes direct access to the Ramganga River, where tourists can enjoy fishing and angling. While making their stay cool and comfortable at the Durgadevi, tourists can grasp the opportunity to go to the Ramganga River to enjoy angling facilities at the Ramganga camp in Bhikiyasen, crossing the gate further 30 kms in the pristine pool of the Ramganga River. The Durgadevi tourist zone is closed during the monsoon due to poor roads in the forest.

Flora & Fauna

The park is blessed with a variety of flora, which provides an awesome feeling of serenity where tourists can enjoy the wildest stay in the laps of Mother Nature. Sheesham, Dhak, Khair, and Sisoo are ubiquitous in this region. Besides these, you will also find Chir Pine, Chir Choti, Kanju, Jamun, Amla, Bel, Kusum, Mahua, and Bakli.

The Mandal range of Corbett Tiger Reserve, through the Durgadevi entrance, gives the tourists challenging bird species to bewilder. It is quite common to sight a grey-headed fishing eagle, crested laughing thrush, black chinned Yuhina, Maroon oriole, slaty blue flycatcher, long-tailed broadbill, little forktail, and bar-tailed treecreeper in this region. Loha Chaur forest area is quite popular among tourists for sighting wild elephants and the heaving terrain that offers an excellent occasion to see leopards.

Accommodation in Durgadevi Forest Zone

Alcohol and non-vegetarian food are not allowed. All your personal and non-biodegradable remains like tin cans, plastic, glass bottles, metal foils, etc. should be put into a carry bag and disposed of off after you finish the tour. This is to keep the National Park climes and animals safe.

How to Reach Durgadevi Forest Zone

Durga Devi Safari zone is a 28 km drive from Ramnagar. It has well-connected roadways. Tourists can book a safari to visit this zone.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit the Durga Devi zone is from October 15 to June 30.

How to Book

Durgadevi forest lodge bookings can be done 45 days prior to your boarding date. Non-Indian travelers can make their bookings 90 days in advance. Passport Id is mandatory for non-Indian travelers.

  • Visitors must be carried entry permits with ID documents, which mentioned in the permit.
  • Day visit Entry permit for Dhikala Zone is only permitted for the tourists staying inside the forest rest house
  • The entry permit to the Corbett National Park is provisional and can be canceled or changed without any prior announcement.
  • Entry permits belong to you not transferrable to others.
  • Entry to the forest area strictly prohibited after sunset
